Viburnum tinus 'Lucidum' is a large evergreen shrub or small tree, with dark green oval leaves. Large, flattish heads of pink-budded white flowers are borne in spring, followed by blue to black berries in autumn. It's a tough, frost-hardy shrub which is quite tolerant of dry conditions. They make a good informal hedge or screen plant and can be pruned to form lolly pops. Plant them in a sunny position to partially shaded position in fertile soil. Water it well until it is established. To control its size, prune them back after flowering.
